Why the trench coat is the stylish essential for this unpredictable British weather
Jacket? Coat? Blazer? When dealing with four seasons in one day, there’s only one sartorial solution. By Tamara Abraham

Quoted from The Telegraph
“Personal stylist Annabel Hodin prefers the classic gabardine for her clients: “It’s light, breathable, waterproof and doesn’t crease,” she says. Other key features to pay attention to? “Good stitching, some structure to the lapels or collar, and quality buckles.
(…)
For those with the resources, Hodin recommends investing in a quality piece: her go-to labels include Burberry, Max Mara, Mackintosh, Ganni and Toteme. On the high street, she recommends Arket and H&M – after all, the Swedes have their fair share of inclement weather, too.
(…)
As a rule, Hodin says: “A trench looks best when the hem is below the knee, ideally mid-calf… And the fit should be generous – slightly too big is better than slightly too small.”
Most of all, choose something that you’re going to love to wear. That may not always be the most sensible choice – but it’ll put a spring in your step while we wait for the British weather to catch up.”
